Charlie Amter — Writer and A&R

He worked for Warner Music Group's publishing arm, Warner/Chappell, from 2012 until 2018 as a staff A&R. Amter also managed all social media for the company during that time period. He’s also a writer, and was an A&R consultant on retainer for New York’s Ultra Records, which led to his full time hire at Warner/Chappell in January of 2012. A former Los Angeles Times staff writer and past frequent Times contributor to the paper’s Calendar section, Amter covered nightlife, music and events for the Times. Additionally, Amter’ s past work has appeared in publications ranging from Spin magazine to the Guardian newspaper. Amter has previously worked as an online editor/producer at companies such E! online and worked at the National Director level doing publicity for labels such as Virgin Records. He also booked talent for Marc Maron's radio show (pre-podcast era) and has spoken on panels at conferences such as By:Larm in Oslo, CMW in Toronto, MIDEM in Cannes, SXSW, Amsterdam Dance Event and more. He is currently working in media intelligence full time for Meltwater (working as an analyst and writer for clients such as AEG Presents), and freelance writing for Variety magazine. In the fall of 2020, Amter moved to Tbilisi, Georgia via their “Work Remotely from Georgia” program, where he continues to work for Meltwater and Variety from the former Soviet republic.
